Glasgow 2014

Alison Walker

Alison Walker was the first female voice to be heard reporting on live football for the BBC in the 90's. Since then she has been all over the world covering sport. She has reported on five Olympic Games, including London 2012, and Sochi 2014 and four Commonwealth Games. During her time at the BBC, she had an eight year stint presenting the sports news on the flagship news programme Reporting Scotland. She has been lucky enough to interview hundreds of sports stars from Tiger Woods to Sir Steve Redgrave. Interview highlights in London included Michael Phelps and Pele, with the Winter Olympics in Russia, one of her more challenging but equally rewarding experiences.

Alison works for Olympic Broadcasting as the only Scottish voice on the Worldwide Olympic News Channel. She is also a regular on BBC Five Live, BBC Scotland, Eurosport and The Sports Network in Canada. She has also been recruited by World Curling TV as a reporter and commentator.
